SAMVEL NIKOYAN ELECTED VICE-SPEAKER OF ARMENIAN PARLIAMENT

Arminfo. Representative of Republican Party of Armenia has been
elected vice-speaker of the Armenian parliament by 104 votes ‘for’
and 3 ‘against’.
As chairman of temporary account commission of the parliament told
deputies, 108 deputies out of 131 rook part in the voting. One ballot
was recognized invalid. The post of vice-speaker was vacant after
resignation of Hrayr Karapetyan, member of the ARF Dashnaktiutyun,
which left the ruling coalition and refused all its posts in the
government.
Representative of RPA faction Artak Davtyan was elected chairman of
the parliamentary commission on education, science, culture, youth
and sports.
The total of 102 deputies out of 108 voted for him.
