RUSSIA AND TURKEY ARE GOING TO ESTABLISH DIRECT FERRY SERVICE

ArmInfo. Russia and Turkey are going to sign an intergovernmental
agreement on opening a direct ferry service Port Kavkaz (Krasnodar
region) – Samsun (Turkey), co-owner of Black Sea Ferry Investment
(BFI) JV Khakim Matchanov told journalists in Yerevan, Tuesday.

According to him, the agreement between the two countries’ transport
departments will be signed in Leipzig, Germany, on May 26. He said
that the BFI is also holding negotiations on opening of a direct ferry
service Port Kavkaz (Russia) – Varna (Bulgaria). At the moment, BFI has
two ferries, but if necessary the company is ready to acquire 1-2 more
ferries to satisfy the demand for cargo transportation, Matchanov said.

To note, 51% of shares of BFI JV belong to Russian Railways OJSC,
and 49% – to Khakim Matchanov.
