PRESIDENT OF ARMENIA CONGRATULATES EDITORIAL STAFF OF MAGAZINE ‘DRUZHBA NARODOV’ ON 70TH ANNIVERSARY

ArmInfo. Magazine ‘Druzhba Narodov’ (Friendship of Peoples) founded in
1939 by the initiative of Maxim Gorky celebrates its 70th anniversary
these days.
The magazine covers literature, art, public and political
events uniting talented authors and bringing closer the national
literatures. Many of the publications in the magazine were included
in the treasury of the contemporary literature.
Press Secretary of the CIS Interstate Fund of Humanitarian Cooperation
Aleksander Kalugin told ArmInfo the magazine is receiving numerous
congratulations including by the presidents of the CIS member-states,
who highlight the role of the magazine in development of inter-cultural
dialogue and national literatures of the Commonwealth.
President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan congratulated the editorial staff
of Magazine ‘Druzhba Narodov’ on 70th anniversary and highlighted
that the magazine brought acknowledgement to many Armenian writers
not only in the former Soviet Union but also in abroad. This tradition
continues opening new doors towards mutual understanding and extension
of humanitarian space, the presidential message says.
