/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Khazakstan’s President Norsultan Nazabaev called on
CIS countries to open markets and adopt loyal attitude to migrants
as a possible way of combating crisis. He also called for a joint
struggle against A/H1N1 virus, RIA Novosti reports.

Before the start of discussion, Nazarbaev met with CIS Prime Ministers
and expressed hope for elaborating decisions for enhanced cooperation
within commonwealth frameworks.

"Our agenda is long. I’d like to note that combatting crisis will be
one of our key issues. The most important thing in this respect is
to open markets between states."

The next issue to be discussed by Prime Ministers should concern
unemployment, Nazarbaev said.

"Commonwealth states should have tolerant attitude to migrants,"
he stressed, noting that unofficial data estimate over 1 million
migrants in Khazakstan.

The President also stressed that deteriorated economic situation
always increases crime rate, so countries should take joint efforts
towards combating crimes. One of the agenda issues to be discussed
by Presidents will be devoted to drug trafficking from Afghanistan,
with Kazakhstan being a transit country.

"Our Government has adopted a very serious program and allocated big
sums to reduce drug trafficking via Khazakstan," Nazarbaev said.

Prime Ministers, according to Nazarbaev, will also focus on measures
of combatting A/H1N1 virus, already registered in 41 states. "10
thousand people all over the world have already been infected, and
we are expected to launch joint struggle against the strain," he noted.

"I know Russia has determined the strain, and it would be very good
if all Governments adopted joint decision for obtaining vaccine,"
the President added.

In conclusion, Khazakstan’s President stressed the importance of the
Commonwealth’s role. "But for CIS, building independence in our states
would have been very difficult," he stressed.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
