RoA President Serzh Sargsyan issued a congratulatory message on the
occasion of Charles Aznavour’s 85th birthday. In part, the message
reads:
Dear Charles,
I warmly congratulate you on your 85th birthday. I am glad that
we celebrated this anniversary together, in the homeland of your
ancestors. This was a wonderful opportunity for the people of Armenia
to enjoy your presence.
You have received accolades for decades on end and your creations have
been met with thunderous applause the world over. I find it difficult
to come up with anything new to say regarding the tremendous success
you have enjoyed.
It is an honor for us that you have placed the reputation you enjoy at
the service of our country’s foreign affairs by assuming the position
of ambassador. The fact that you have placed all possible resources at
the disposal of our country and your constant willingness to assist
Armenia is a faithful reflection of your personality and is becoming
that of this planet’s most famous Armenian.
Again, let me congratulate you on your anniversary. I wish you health
and limitless energy; energy that you have placed in the service of
what is good, beautiful and for the benefit of your two homelands,
France and Armenia.
