FIVE AMERICAN ARMENIANS AWARDED ELLIS ISLAND MEDAL OF HONOR

NEW YORK, MAY 29, NOYAN TAPAN – ARMENIANS TODAY. On May 9 The National
Ethnic Coalition of Organizations (NECO) awarded Ellis Island Medals
of Honor to five Armenian community leaders.

Tavit Najarian, ScD, Legate of the Diocese of the Armenian Church of
America and President of the National Council of Churches Archbishop
Vicken Aykazian, Diocesan Council Members James Kalustian and Oscar
Tatosian, as well as George Pagoumian were awarded for devoted service
to the community, promotion of Armenian values, and building bridges
between ethnic communities within the United States and abroad.
