YEREVAN, JUNE 9, NOYAN TAPAN. The bill envisaging the constant presence
of a tax inspector at a big enterprise is anticonstitutional and
conflicts with liberal values. Member of National Assembly "Prosperous
Armenia" faction Vardan Bostanjian expressed this opinion at the June
9 press conference. He announced that their faction is likely not to
participate in the vote on the bill.

In his words, every person has a right to feel himself at ease, and if
someone, especially an employee of the tax service, constantly controls
a person, the latter will finally make mistakes. The NA deputy said
that the indicated bill gives more rights to a tax inspector than to
the owner or the executive manager of the given enterprise.

According to Head of the Political Economy research center, economist
Andranik Tevanian, he forecast as early as two years ago that an
one-centered economic system would be created in Armenia. In his words,
the system was initiated at the time when the authorities declared the
state budget as an end in itself and they started a redistribution of
property under the name of a fight against shadow economy. "In general,
if the government of a country declares some section of business as
a target, it means that a businessman in that country is perceived
as a criminal, with respect to whom a Bolshebvistic planned policy
must be conducted," A. Tevanian said.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
