"FATHER AND SON" DESTROYING CIRCUMSTANCES

The Head of the NZh Party Aram Karapetyan was asked to voice his
opinion in connection with the political platform composed of
12 points, which Levon Ter-Petrosyan proposed for oppositional
cooperation. He stated that all the 12 points are perceivable, as
they do not include any new thing.
Aram Karapetyan stated that it is a very normal platform. His party
has not discussed it yet, but he thinks that it will work. He stated
that the platform reflects what the opposition has always stated. But
it cannot become a reason for the Nor Zhamanakner to become a member of
the HAK. As Levon Ter-Petrosyan stated, opposition may act separately
but around such a platform, stated Aram Karapetyan.
Aram Karapetyan stated that if elections do not work in Armenia,
only one way is left to change the government and to unite around
that platform. The reporters asked what he meant when he stressed in
his speech that the "father and son" statuses have to be ruled out
from opposition.
Aram Karapetyan stated that since 2003, his party has proved of being
a separate force. He stated that the leaders of the party have been
put in prisons during the national movement. He stated that he did
not want to state, "who are the fathers and who are the sons, but it
is always the father that are arrested".
Aram Karapetyan though noted that he noticed some division in "fathers
and sons" within both of the oppositional and governmental fields. Aram
Karapetyan noted that he did not notice it in Levon Ter-Petrosyan but
the people surrounding him have that syndrome. As Aram Karapetyan
stated Levon Ter-Petrosyan’s speech at the rally was very unison,
where he noted that "fathers and sons" are equal.
