/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Increase of the number of tourists arriving
in Armenia indicates competitiveness of the industry in Armenia,
Deputy Minister of Economy Vahe Danielyan said Thursday during the
3rd Tourism Competitiveness in Armenia forum which kicked off in
Yerevan on June 18.

"Under the crisis, the flow of tourists in Armenia is growing. It
means that these people prefer more affordable travel packages," he
said, adding that Armenia is an attractive country with rich cultural
heritage and nature.

"If I had time I would spend my vacation in Armenia. It’s cheaper
than abroad," he said.

Meanwhile, he remarked that not all segments of Armenian tourism are
competitive. "The National Statistical Service should examine the
industry and reveal its most attractive sectors.

Tourism Competitiveness in Armenia forum is aimed to promote the
development of tourism cluster, afford opportunities for cooperation,
provide online information on the present situation to the interested
parties and assist the resolution of problems

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
