Armenian Executives Specify Remote Sensing Procedures

ARMENIAN EXECUTIVES SPECIFY REMOTE SENSING PROCEDURES

YEREVAN, June 19. /ARKA/. Armenia’s Government approved on Thursday
regulations on space filming and Earth remote sensing, the RA State
Committee for Real Estate Cadastre (SCREC) reports.

According to SCREC Chairman Yervand Zakharyan, leading experts and
specialists have worked on this project.

The regulations specify for the notions of Earth remote sensing and
data research, as well as individuals authorized to use remote sensing
data, Zakharyan said, adding non-residents can also apply for Earth
remote sensing in the country.

Armenia’s first Space Monitoring Center opened in Yerevan on April 1 on
the basis of the Geodesic Research and Map-Making Institute. Russia’s
Federal Space Agency (Roscosmos-1) supported the initiative.

The satellite earth station enables watching online and taking photos
of any part of Armenia to within one meter.
