ILHAM ALIYEV PERFORMS HIS REGULAR ‘SWORD DANCE’

ArmInfo. On June 24, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev appeared
with his regular threats to Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh. This time
Aliyev’s speech was timed to the exercises he watched.
As the Azerbaijani media report, the son of the great father started
his speech with praises to the address of the father of the Azerbaijani
people.
Then, as tradition demands, Aliyev-junior listed the achievements of
his state in military construction, the multi- billion investments and,
as a result, enhancement of the military efficiency of the Azerbaijani
Army. ‘Our Army is ready to cope with any tasks’, Aliyev-junior
said. He also touched on the Karabakh conflict. ‘Our territorial
integrity has been violated and our lands have been under occupation
over many years. We strive to solve the issue through talks. "However,
the talks conducted 15 years do not give positive results. In the case,
we must rely on our military power. Therefore considerable measures
have been taken for further strengthening our army potential over the
last couple of years. Today, our army is the mightiest army of this
region. In case of necessity, we can use our military power to restore
Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity. This is our sovereign right",
Aliyev said and added: "I have no doubt that Azerbaijan’s territorial
integrity will be restored and we will put an end to this injustice,
because all international legal norms are in our favor. The decisions
and resolutions of the authoritative international organizations
reflect Azerbaijan’s stance. The armed power and military strength
are on our side, the economic potential is also on our side". In this
case, the law, according to Aliyev’s logic, is the international law:
one law for the rich, and another – for the poor. "I repeat: we live
in conditions of war, so, we should be first of all engaged in the
army construction. The war has not ended yet. Only the first stage of
the war ended. We must always be ready to liberate our native lands
from the occupation". This statement matches the well-known Russian
proverb "Brawn instead of Brain" never better.
