THROUGH A VIEWFINDER: LIBRARY EXHIBIT FEATURES PHOTOGRAPHER RICK HAITHCOX ON THE GO, ON THE SCENE

Award-winning professional photographer Rick Haithcox will lead a
multi-media discussion, including photo tips and original images,
at the "Travel and Location Photography" event next month at the
Gaston County Public Library.

Haithcox, who opened Haithcox Photography in Dallas in 1987, recently
traveled in Mexico and Armenia, which were the inspirations for the
featured images in the special event. His portfolio includes an array
of awards and honors, including the 2001 North Carolina Photographer
of the Year and two Fuji Masterpiece Awards.

His work has also been included in prestigious exhibitions, traveling
exhibits and loan collections, such as those of the Professional
Photographers of America, the South Carolina State Museum and the
Gaston County Museum of Art & History.

The free event takes place at 2 p.m. Aug. 1 at in the auditorium of
the Gaston County Public Library, 1555 E. Garrison Blvd., Gastonia. For
