Cyprian President D. Christofias Puts Flowers On The Memorial Of The

CYPRIAN PRESIDENT D. CHRISTOFIAS PUTS FLOWERS ON THE MEMORIAL OF THE VICTIMS OF ARMENIAN GENOCIDE

YEREVAN, JULY 7, ARMENPRESS: President of the Republic of Cyprus
Demitris Christofias and his wife – Elsi Christofias, who are in
Armenia on a two-day state visit, visited today Tsitsernakaberd, put
flowers on the memorial of the victims of Armenian Genocide. He was
accompanied with Armenian Foreign Affairs Minister Edward Nalbandyan,
Deputy Mayor of Yerevan Kamo Areyan and other officials.

Accompanied with director of the Genocide Museum of Armenian
National Academy of Science the Cyprian President got acquainted
with the documentary materials on Armenian massacres, photos and
other documents.

D. Christofias made a note in the museum’s memory register which
particularly said: "I feel grief and regret seeing this terrible crime
committed towards Armenians by the Young Turks. It is the duty of all
humanity to recognize and condemn this crime against humanity. Cyprus
has always been and will remain by Armenia in the issue of recognizing
the genocide".

The honorable guest presented a sail souvenir to the museum symbolizing
Cyprus’s unity and solidarity.

D. Christofias planted a fir-tree in the Memorial Park.

Afterwards Cyprian president’s delegation left for the Yerevan
Municipality.
