ARMENIA’S CASINOS, GAMBLING HALLS PAY 290 MILLION DRAMS WORTH STATE DUTIES IN Q1/Q2

YEREVAN, July 9. /ARKA/. Casinos and gambling halls in Armenia paid
state duties worth 290mln drams in the first half of 2009, the RA
Ministry of Finance reports.

Last month, gambling halls were fined 2.7mln drams, with casinos
paying penalties total of 2.2mln drams. In June, the local casinos
and gambling halls paid 85mln drams worth state duties.

The RA Ministry of Finance granted a license to a casino and a license
to a gambling hall, annulling four licenses. During the same period,
the ministry suspended five licenses for gambling operations.

The government agencies revealed violations, suspending six licenses
for gambling operations.

Licenses of 111 gambling halls, 11 casinos and one lottery were valid
as of July 1, 2009. ($1-364.54 drams)
