RUSSIA SUPPORTS THE STEPS DIRECTED TOWARDS PEOPLE’S DIPLOMACY IN KARABAKH CONFLICT REGULATION

MOSCOW, JULY 13, ARMENPRESS: Russia will go on actively supporting
the progress of Karabakh conflict regulation, as well as the steps
towards the people’s diplomacy, the reports of Russian Foreign Affairs
Ministry on the results of the meetings of the Armenian and Azerbaijani
representatives of public and political circles in Yerevan, Baku,
and Stepanakert says.
"It is known that the first suchlike event was held in June 2007. The
current meetings are the continuation of that important initiative. The
engaged exchange of opinions assured that the society and civil society
institutions are aimed at greatly contributing to the recovery and
strengthening of confidence between the sides involved in Karabakh
conflict, as well as at creating a favorable environment for peaceful
regulation of the conflict. The Russian side positively assesses the
results of the events taken place", – the statement says.
In the document it is also underscored that Armenian President
Serzh Sargsyan, who received the participants of the dialogue, and
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliev expressed support to those efforts.
