YEREVAN, AUGUST 20, NOYAN TAPAN – ARMENIANS TODAY. The Country
and Culture NGO with the support of the RA Ministry of Diaspora
and ArmenTel joint venture CJSC published the Belief and Heritage
Song-Book of Campaign-Pilgrimage.

The lyrics of more than 60 Armenian beloved songs are divided into
sacred, folk, patriotic and classical-modern departments. There are
also several prayers in the song-book.

It is the second edition of the song-book made in 1999 with the
sponsorship of Archbishop Mesrop Ashchian. It is especially intended
for those who are participants of the Belief and Heritage annual
campaigns launched in the same year on Archbishop’s initiative
and organized by the Country and Culture NGO. The campaigns were
launched on the occasion of the 1700th anniversary (2001) of declaring
Christianity a state religion in Armenia.

"Thousands of Armenian young people will visit the churches and sacred
places of our country, nature reserves and environmental centers to
clean, to take care of what our fathers built as temples of belief and
light," Archbishop Mesrop Ashchian wrote in the song-book’s greeting
speech presented in the new edition.

And RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobian wrote: "I welcome
republication of this beautiful song-book and assure you that these
songs will give our people both in Armenia and in the Diaspora will
and spirit, the happiness and behest of being Armenian, will further
strengthen the wish of staying Armenian, as well as love and respect
for an Armenian, all Armenians, and Armenia."

The Belief and Heritage Song-Book of Campaign-Pilgrimage was
republished at the Mughni publishing-house.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
