ARMENIAN AMBASSADOR TO EGYPT HANDS OVER HIS CREDENTIALS

YEREVAN, AUGUST 21, ARMENPRESS: Armenian newly appointed ambassador
to Egypt Armen Melkonyan handed over the copies of his credentials
to Foreign Minister of Egypt Ahmed Abul Gheyt August 20. Armenian
Foreign Ministry’s media and information department told Armenpress
that during the meeting the minister congratulated the ambassador
on the appointment and expressed hope that during the tenure he will
contribute to the development of Armenian-Egyptian relations. He highly
assessed the cooperation between the two countries and underscored
the necessity of continuative contacts on different levels.

The foreign minister of Egypt also pointed out the role of the
Egyptian-Armenian community both in the inner life of the country
and in boosting Armenian-Egyptian relations.

The ambassador, conveying the greetings of Armenian Foreign Minister
Edward Nalbandyan, said he will exert all his efforts to bring
to life bilateral programs and expand the mutually beneficial
cooperation. With the request of the minister he presented recent
developments in the Karabakh conflict regulation process and current
state of Armenian-Turkish dialogue.
