2.6 bln Rubles expected volume of investments in upgrading railway

The expected volume of investments in upgrading of Armenian railway to
amount to 2.6 bln roubles in 2010

ArmInfo. The expected volume of investments in upgrading of Armenian
railway will amount to 2.6 bln roubles in 2010, the first deputy
director general of CJSC Marat Khakov said at today’s press-conference
in Yerevan when replying to ArmInfo correspondent’s question.

He also added that 600 mln roubles will be allocated for development of
the track facilities. He also said that directed 50 mln roubles for
creation of the logistic centre at the border station Akhuryan within
the frames of the investment programme 2009. , – Khakov said and
assured that in case of restoration of the railway communication
between Armenia and Turkey, the railway traffic towards Turkey will
become possible in two days, as the preparation work in this direction
has been already finished.

Khakov also said that opening of the Diagnostic Centre in October 2009
is an important investment project. The Centre will make it possible to
assess the state of the transport infrastructure without direct
participation of a man.
