Turkey and Armenia are set to sign in Zurich, on October 10, an
agreement to establish diplomatic relations.

The information was reported Sunday by the Bulgarian information
agency BTA, citing APF and an undisclosed source from the Turkish
cabinet.

Two protocols that have already been agreed on will be signed by the
Foreign Affairs Ministers of Turkey and Armenia.

The two countries, whose shared historical events are marked by
violence and mutual accusations, announced in August they negotiated
the establishment of diplomatic relations, opening of the common
borders and a schedule with measures to improve their bilateral
cooperation.

The protocols, however, can enter into effect, only after their
ratification from the Parliaments of the two countries, something that
remains quite uncertain, political experts say.
