UAF’s 153rd Airlift Delivers $3.3 Million of Aid to Armenia

Glendale, CA – The United Armenian Fund’s 153rd airlift arrived in Yerevan
on September 26, delivering $3.3 million of humanitarian assistance.

For this flight, the UAF itself collected $2.8 million of medicines and
medical supplies donated by various charities, including AmeriCares ($1.9
million), Health Partners International of Canada ($395,000), and the
Catholic Medical Mission Board ($349,000).

Other organizations which contributed goods for this airlift were Cafesjian
Museum Foundation ($125,000), Dr. Mary Alani/Focus Armenia ($68,000),
Armenian Relief Society ($64,000), Dr. Hrair Garabedian ($39,000), Dr.
Stephen Kashian ($36,000), Sacred Heart Medical Center ($20,000), and Dr.
Samuel Malayan ($20,000).

Also contributing supplies to this airlift were Howard Karagheusian
Commemorative Corp. ($19,000), Birthlink of UK ($17,000), Joseph
Guzelian/UMAF Rhone-Alpes of France ($17,000), Armen Kocharian ($16,000),
Armenian Missionary Association of America ($15,000), Armenian Students’
Association ($13,000), and Armenian Bone Marrow Registry ($11,000).

Since its inception in 1989, the UAF has sent $569 million of humanitarian
assistance to Armenia on board 153 airlifts and 1,726 sea containers.

The UAF is the collective effort of the Armenian General Benevolent Union,
Armenian Missionary Association of America, Armenian Relief Society, Diocese
of the Armenian Church of America, Prelacy of the Armenian Apostolic Church
of America, and The Lincy Foundation.
