Armenia, France Interested In Developing Multifaceted Cooperation

ARMENIA, FRANCE INTERESTED IN DEVELOPING MULTIFACETED COOPERATION

While in Paris, Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian had a
meeting with his French counterpart Bernard Kouchner.

Ministers Nalbandian and Kouchner highly appreciated the close
friendly relations between Armenia and France and attached importance
to the further development of multifaceted cooperation between the
two countries.

The Foreign Minister of Armenia and France talked about Armenia-EU
relations and the perspectives of their development.

The interlocutors discussed the process of settlement of the Karabakh
conflict. Edward Nalbandian hailed France’s constructive involvement
in the process as an OSCE Minsk Group co-chair country.

Edward Nalbandian and Bernard Kouchner exchanged views on the process
of normalization of the Armenian-Turkish relations. Minister Kouchner
welcomed the process of establishment of relations between the two
countries and voiced hoe that it would yield tangible results in the
near future.

The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and France signed the agreement on
lifting the requirement for entry visas for persons with diplomatic
passports. The agreement is the first step towards simplification of
visa regime between Armenia and EU member states.
