During the Industrial Night 2009, held in the Industrial Chamber in
Kayseri Sunday, Turkey’s President Abdullah Gul answered journalists’
questions, mostly referring to Zurich signing ceremony.

Commenting on the discrepancies arisen prior to the signing ceremony
of Armenian-Turkish protocols, Turkey’s President said:

"Complex issues are certain not to be resolved in short terms. Ice
cannot melt at a go. The ice is sure not to melt the following day
either. The protocols showed this. The suspensions of the kind may
sometimes occur during such significant events.

Hopefully, all this will bear results eventually. There is no need
to stick to it much."

Gul also highlighted the significance of the circumstance the
settlement of Armenia-Turkey, Armenia-Azerbaijan relations, as well
as the regulation of the ongoing problems in Georgia will provide
wider opportunities for the regional cooperation.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
