TURKEY’S NATIONALIST MOVEMENT PARTY CRITICIZED RAPPROCHEMENT WITH ARMENIA

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Devlet Bahceli, leader of Nationalist Movement Party
(MHP) -the second biggest opposition in the parliament- criticized the
government’s foreign policy and the recent rapprochement with Armenia.
Addressing the group meeting of his party Tuesday in the parliament,
Bahceli said the government "failed to seek Turkey’s national
interests."
He said the government’s zero problem policy was "nothing more than
subordination to foreign aspirations it failed to resist." Bahceli
said the recent protocols signed with Armenia was "the arbitrariness"
of the government and it "did not reflect the views and emotions of
the whole nation."
He urged the government not to be influenced by foreign impositions
and to avoid straining relations with a country while trying to
fix relations with another. "The Justice and Development (AK) Party
mentality which risks loosing Azerbaijan in the name of winning over
Armenia, has forced relations with this close ally to a dangerous
path," said Bahceli.
Bahceli said Turkish nation was loyal to and always stood by Azerbaijan
urging it not to hurt feelings of the entire Turkish nation for
mistakes of the AK Party administration. "In this respect we urge
Azerbaijan to respect the Turkish flag and channel "their righteous
anger" to diplomatic paths," said Bahceli, reported Anatolian News
Agency.
