RESERVE LIEUTENANT-COLONEL GEVORG HAYRAPETIAN COOPERATING WITH AZERI SPECIAL SERVICES ARRESTED

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 21, NOYAN TAPAN. RA citizen Gevorg Hayrapetian
cooperating with Azeri special services was arrested as a result of the
investigation actions of the RA National Security Service structures.
G. Hayrapetian is a former serviceman, reserve Lieutenant-Colonel,
in 2007 he was expelled from the RA armed forces for gross violation
of military and service disciplinary rules.
A charge was brought to G. Hayrapetian by part 1, Article 299, RA
Criminal Code, high treason in the form of espionage.
According to a report by the RA National Security Service Press Office,
a foreign citizen maintaining communication between G.
Hayrapetian and Azeri special services was also arrested.
The Investigation Department of the RA National Security Service
carries out the preliminary investigation on the criminal case.
