SPEAKER OF THE NA OF THE REPUBLIC OF ARMENIA RECEIVES THE U.S. DEPUTY ASSISTANT OF STATE DEPARTMENT FOR EUROPE AND EURASIA

On October 21 Speaker of the National Assembly Mr. Hovik Abrahamyan
received U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian
Affairs Mrs. Tina S. Kaidanow.
Welcoming Mrs. Kaidanow Mr. Abrahamyan highlighted the friendly
relations between the Republic of Armenia and the USA and the
cooperation in the political, trade-economic, military, cultural,
educational fields. Assessing the U.S. positive involvement in
the South Caucasus region, the Speaker of the Armenian Parliament
expressed hope that the cooperation between the two countries will
continue to strengthen and develop.
During the meeting the interlocutors discussed the issue of
normalization of relations with Turkey without preconditions and
touched upon the process of strengthening democracy in Armenia.
U.S. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Mrs. Marie L.
Yovanovitch also attended the meeting.
