GERMANY HOSTS SCIENTIFIC-CULTURAL SYMPOSIUM "NAGORNO KARABAKH – CULTURAL CRADLE OF AZERBAIJAN"

Baku – APA. A scientific-cultural symposium entitled "Nagorno Karabakh
– cultural cradle of Azerbaijan" took place in Berlin. The symposium
was organized by the Public Union of Azerbaijani community of Nagorno
Karabakh and Germany-Azerbaijan Forum at the Berlin Brandenburg Academy
of Sciences and Humanities, Azerbaijani embassy in Germany told APA.

Chairman of the Germany-Azerbaijan Forum, former State Secretary of
Germany Otto Hauser welcomed the participants and then Azerbaijani
ambassador to Germany Parviz Shahbazov and member of the Azerbaijani
parliament, member of the governing board of the Public Union
of Azerbaijani community of Nagorno Karabakh Rovshan Rzayev
addressed the symposium. The speakers called the long-standing
Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno Karabakh conflict as a serious obstacle
on the way of development of the region and threat to the sustainable
peace and brought the facts that Nagorno Karabakh is a historic
land of Azerbaijan and integral and important part of the rich
cultural-historic heritage of the Azerbaijani people.

Then rector of the Baku Slavic University Kamal Abdullah made a
scientific report "Nagorno Karabakh in the history of Azerbaijan",
which was followed by a round table "Nagorno Karabakh – what’s ahead"
moderated by Otto Hauser. Former representative of German foreign
ministry in the OSCE Minsk Group, Ambassador Frank Lambach, former
member of Bundestag and member of the German delegation to PACE E.

Linthner, from Azerbaijani side – Kamal Abdullah, rector of Baku
Academy of Music Farhad Badalbeyli and MP Rzayev participated at
the discussions. They spoke about the Nagorno Karabakh’s link to
Azerbaijan.

Participants of the round table said that Armenia’s constructive
position to withdraw its forces from the occupied territories
of Azerbaijan would contribute to the regional development and
cooperation. Representatives of the German Bundestag, different
government agencies, brain centers, mass media and diplomatic corps
accredited in Germany, as well as activists of Azerbaijani Diaspora
in Germany participated at the event.
