Serzh Sargsyan There was no positive step both in internal and external
policy of Armenia in 2009.

There was no positive step both in internal and external policy
of Armenia in 2009, said Zarui Postandjan, member of the Heritage
parliamentary faction.

She noted that the only positive achievement can be considered
the release of a part of political prisoners. "No civil rights are
observed in the country. Our courts execute only the state order and
work under their pressure. There has not been any achievements in
forming the institute of democracy", Postandjan said.

She said the most frustrating fact is the signing of Armenian-Turkish
accords on establishment of diplomatic relations. Serzh Sargsyan is the
only Armenian president who made a gross mistake by agreeing to sign
a document that is far from national interests, the diplomat considers.

Postandjan does not bind any hopes to 2010 due the current regime.

"However, it does not mean we must give up. We continue this struggle.

The most important is that we have a desire to win. Our current
steps on the political arena can be regarded as a drop in the ocean
but constant dropping wears away a stone. We are supported by people
which is proven by my numerous visits to the regions of the country.

Moreover, few believed that the USSR will disappear in day but
this happened. Nothing is eternal. Despite hard social and economic
conditions, ordinary people cannot be deceived", she said.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
