SERZH SARGSYAN: 2010 WILL BE YEAR OF ECONOMIC REHABILITATION HAVING MUCH IMPORTANCE FOR ARMENIA

YEREVAN, JANUARY 11, NOYAN TAPAN. RA President Serzh Sargsyan held
a consultation on January 8 in Tsakhkadzor dedicated to territorial
government policy carried on in Armenia, summing up the results of
Yerevan’s and regions’ socio-economic development recorded in 2009,
as well as tasks planned for 2010.

According to RA President’s Press Office, RA Deputy Prime Minister,
Minister of Territorial Administration Armen Gevorgian, Yerevan Mayor
and the Governors participated in the consultation. Yerevan Mayor
and Governors reported about the brief results of previous year’s
socio-economic development, primary tasks of regional and communal
significance, and work planned to solve them.

Serzh Sargsyan mentioning that 2010 will be a year of economic
rehabilitation having much importance for Armenia emphasized that
efficient solution of tasks set will be conditioned by responsible
work of territorial government and local self-government bodies. He
attached importance to the necessity of more careful attitude of
territorial government bodies to citizens and their problems and
charged to activize citizen-territorial government bodies contact.

A wide range of issues related to regional government reforms,
collection of communal revenues and changes envisaged in the sphere of
local taxes and duties, as well as tendencies recorded in the sphere
of regional economy were discussed at the consultation.
