Armenians in Baku will be held at Armenian schools from January 13 to

On January 13 1990 after regular rally by the People’s Front of
Azerbaijan several thousands of Azerbaijanis attacked the flats of
Armenians in Baku, whose addresses were preliminarily posted on the
walls of the PFA headquarters. In Baku like 2 years before that in
Sumgait dozens of thousand Armenians residents of Baku were viciously
killed, beaten up and expelled. A total of 91 people were killed by
official data in Baku. Only after belated decree by the USSR Supreme
Council Presidium ( dated January 19 ) it became possible to bring
order in Baku. Then army units led by General Aleksander Lebed
entered Baku.
