Russia welcomes a constructive decision on Armenian-Turkish relations
and the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, said Russian
Prime Minister Vladimir Putin during a joint press conference held
with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Moscow yesterday.

"We are interested in the immediate settlement of all those issues
which have afflicted our neighbours in the past," Putin was quoted
as saying by Russian news agency Itar-Tass.

The Russian PM also stated that the two issues (Armenian-Turkish
relations and the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict) shouldn’t be connected,
but rather should be addressed separately.

"Russia, in turn, is prepared to support its partners’ positions,"
concluded Putin.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
