/PanARMENIAN.Net/ The approach of some political activists who are
trying to diminish the decision of the RA CC is rather strange. The
Turkish authorities did not think that Armenia would protect its
interests, Artsvik Minasyan, MP from ARFD group told a joint press
conference held with RA NA deputy from Republican Party of Armenia
Gagik Melikyan in Yerevan.

According to him, the RA Constitutional Court gave only a legal
assessment to the negotiations held without preconditions. "If Armenia
really held negotiations with Turkey without preconditions, it would
be strange if the Armenian Parliament would not introduce reservations
during ratification of the Protocols," MP from ARFD group said.

According to him, if the negotiation process was originally designed
without preconditions, then Armenia should not be afraid to defend
its position.

Minasyan stressed, that does not believe that in 2010 negotiations
on Armenian-Turkish relations will advance. " It is important that
Turkish hysteria not influence Armenia, " Minasyan said.

Protocols on the normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations have
been signed on October 10, 2009 in Zurich by the foreign ministers
of Armenia and Turkey, Edward Nalbandian and Ahmet Davutoglu in the
presence of the foreign ministers of France, the United States, Russia
and Switzerland after a series of diplomatic talks held through Swiss
mediation since 2007. According to the Protocols, diplomatic relations
should be established between the two countries and the mutual border,
closed by Turkey since 1993, should be opened. On January 12, 2010
Armenian Constitutional Court acknowledged the constituency of the
Protocols.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
