Georgia is not interested in Armenia-Turkey reconciliation and border
opening, as it will be deprived of its monopolistic role in cargo
traffic, Chairman of Javakhk Compatriotic Union Shirak Torosyan stated
at Feb. 3 press conference in RA NA.

According to him, if Armenia-Turkey border eventually opens, tariffs
on cargo traffic via Georgia will be definitely revised, this is not
beneficial for the country.

Commenting on the fact that he was banned from entering Georgia in
2006, he said that the situation remains unchanged and RA Foreign
Office pledges that all no stone will be left unturned to restore
his admission to the country are yet theoretical.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
