ARAM I, ARMENIAN CATHOLICOS VISITING KERALA

Kottayam, Feb. 22 — Aram I, the head of the Catholicosate of Cilicia
will visit Malankara from February 24 as per the invitation of Baselius
Marthoma Didymos I, supreme head of the Malankara Orthodox Church.

At a news conference here today church leaders said Catholicos
designate Paulose Mar Milithios would receive the Armenian Catholicos
at Nedumbassery airport. The Armenian delegation would meet Catholicos
Baselius Marthoma Didymos I at Devalokam here on February 24 evening.

The Armenian Catholicos, a strong supporter of inter-religious
relations, dialogue and cooperation would participate in the ecumenical
dialogue to be held at the Orthodox Seminary under the cooperation
of the Kerala Council of Churches on February 25. He would deliver
the main discourse on the future of ecumenical relationship between
churches at the meeting.

He would also participate at the Orthodox Church synod to be held on
February 26 at Devalokam.

Archbishop Sebouh Sarkissian, Prelate of Tehran, Bishop Nareg
Alemezian, ecumenical officer and Fr. Mesrob Sarkissian, Secretary to
the Catholicos were accompanying the Catholicos, Church leaders said.

The Armenian delegation would visit various centres including
Puthuppally Georgian pilgrim centre, Muvattupuzha, Kolencherry,
Parumala church and Thiruvananthapuram before going back on March 1.
