TCA Arshag Dickranian School’s Elementary Students
Participate in Haiti Fundraiser

Los Angeles, February 23, 2009 – The 2nd and 3rd grade students of TCA
Arshag Dickranian School conducted a fundraiser to support the victims of
Haiti on February 5th, 2010, which was organized by the 2nd and 3rd grade
homeroom teachers, Ms. Lusine Asatryan and Ms. Ashley Kirakosyan.

The fundraiser took place in the form of a bake sale which was held in the
2nd grade classroom. The students were asked to bring an assortment of
pastries, cakes and cookies to school to sell them to other students,
teachers and staff. The students helped raise over $500 in one day. The
profits of this bake sale were transferred to The American Red Cross to
support its efforts in helping the Haitian people cope and deal with the
aftermath of the earthquake which struck Haiti on January 12, 2010. This
week, the 5th grade homeroom teacher Ms. Susan Kim will be assisting the
5th grade students in holding another bake sale fundraiser to raise funds
for Haiti.

As a nation that has experienced a destructive earthquake in 1988,
Armenians recognize the pain and suffering that come hand in hand with
such a traumatic event. The students of Arshag Dickranian School realize
the importance of reaching out and helping others who have had similar
experiences.

Located at 1200 North Cahuenga Blvd., Los Angeles, the TCA Arshag
Dickranian Armenian School is a federally tax exempt, Pre-K to 12th grade
private educational institution. For more information visit

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
