SESSION OF THE COLLEAGUE OF THE RA CHIEF PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE TAKES PLACE

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 24, ARMENPRESS: Session of the Colleague of the
RA Chief Prosecutor’s Office took place today chaired by the chief
prosecutor Aghvan Hovsepyan. At the event present were Secretary
of the National Security Council Arthur Baghdasaryan, chief of the
police Alik Sargsyan.
A. Hovsepyan said that in 2009 51% of growth of the crime rate has
been registered which is connected with the registration of all the
crimes. "As a result the statistics about the crimes corresponded to
reality. It will make us do necessary conclusions," A. Hovsepyan said.
He expressed his complaint of the prosecutors for not protecting the
accusations in the court.
The chief prosecutor referred to a number of concerning issues,
starting from illegal drug trafficking, to crimes committed by
teenagers.
A. Hovsepyan also said that there is a tendency of increase of the
hooligan attacks and according to him, the rate of its revealing is
not enough.
Secretary of the National Security Council Arthur Baghdasaryan
said that many issues of the sphere are under the limelight of the
president. "Efforts directed toward revealing the crimes of corruption
nature must be increased and the works directed toward restoring the
damage to the state too," A. Baghdasryan said.
