ArmInfo. In the period of chairmanship in EU, Spain intends to speed-up
the work on issue of a mandate about the beginning of negotiations on
a new associative agreement with Armenia, Foreign Minister of Spain
Miguel Angel Moratinos said at a joint press-conference with Armenian
FM in Yerevan.

during March. He added that signing of an associative agreement with
Armenia has been conditioned by a new Lisbon agreement. As Moratinos
said, the visit to Yerevan is the first one after adoption of the
Lisbon agreement. According to him, EU plays an important part not
only in the international arena but also in rapprochement with such
countries as Armenia, which strives for intensive involvement in
cooperation with the European Union.

minister, is in Armenia on a regional visit.
