THE CATHOLICOSATE AND HAIGAZIAN UNIVERSITY
INITIATE A PILOT PROJECT FOR AN INTENSIVE COURSE IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE TO THE
CLERGY

Recently, the Catholicosate and Haigazian University had initiated an
intensive English Language course for the clergy. The course was planned for
three months and the purpose was to teach language skills to the young
clergy and prepare them to participate more actively in ecumenical and other
international bodies.

The President of Haigazian University, Dr. Paul Haydostian had seconded a
staff to teach at the seminary. At the end of the three months, the students
will continue their language courses through e-learning.

The success of this project has encouraged both the Catholicosate and
Haigazian University to continue their cooperation in language learning and
eventually expand it to other disciplines.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
