AZERBAIJAN SERIOUSLY CONCERNED OVER GENOCIDE RECOGNITION: AZNAVOUR

RA President Serzh Sargsyan met with prominent representatives of
Armenian community in France. Famous chansonnier and RA Ambassador
to Switzerland Charles Aznavour, Patrick Devedjian — Minister under
the Prime Minister in charge of the Implementation of the Recovery
Plan, designer Alain Manoukian, impresario Levon Sayan, head of the
Union of French Film Producers Alain Terzian attended the meeting,
NEWS.am correspondent reports from Paris.

Afterwards, Charles Aznavour answered journalists’ questions and
commented on Armenia-Turkey relations.

He noted that Genocide recognition internationally will be taken
by Azerbaijan bigger than by Turkey. "Azerbaijan fears that Turkey
will realize it cannot avoid recognition," he said, adding that Baku
is concerned over the fact that rising of Genocide issue will draw
a broad response and the number of projects implemented in Turkey
will decrease.

"This process as well as border opening is not advantageous for
Azerbaijan. This fact intimidates Baku ," Aznavour emphasized.

Commenting on his career as a chansonnier, Aznavour stated, "As I do
a diplomatic service, I spare some time from my singer’s career to
manage all." He also assured that he will always sing.

The chansonnier informed that took the post of RA Ambassador to
Switzerland as is one of the world renowned Armenians and is confident
that his fame will assist the solution to many problems in favor of
Armenia and its nation.
