Recognition of Genocide by other countries parliaments’ might
jeopardize accord signed by Armenia and Turkey last October in Zurich,
Hurriyet Daily News reports. The source says that the Protocols bring
hope that "genuine historical controversy could be resolved by scholars
rather than politicians."

According to the Turkish daily, despite Armenia’s expectations UK,
Spanish, Ukrainian and Bulgarian parliaments will not approve Genocide
resolutions. The source quotes anonymous high ranking Turkish diplomat
saying "Such made-up reports are promoted on purpose ahead of April
24." The source notes that British Premier assured that resolution
will not be approved in UK. Besides, Spanish government opposes
Genocide recognition as well.

Hurriyet Daily says that the issue will not be considered in Bulgarian
and Ukrainian parliaments. "Our political cooperation with Turkey
is vital for us, and we will not let such an outsider affect or
deteriorate it," the daily quotes Bulgarian diplomat.

Ukrainian Ambassador to Turkey Sergey Korsunsky also denied rumors
on including resolution in Verkhovna Rada’s agenda, stressing that
"this information is totally false."
