TALKS ON WAR ARE JUST A BLUFF, SAYS YEGHIAZARIAN

Aysor, Armenia
March 25 2010

All talks on resumption of hostilities in Karabakh are parts of
regular bluffing, said member of the Social Democratic Gnchakian Party,
former deputy minister of national security, Gurgen Yeghiazarian at
today’s press conference.

Referring to regular war threats by Azerbaijan, Gurgen Yeghiazarian
said: "We’ve already proved that we’ve got a strong and battleworthy
army; so if Azerbaijan wants to go in war…

"Actually, I don’t think that the war is possible, as we are too close
to Baku-Jeikhan; and at least, that’s not us, but some other reasons,
that are used to leading to war in the 21th century in case if the
conflict hasn’t got a local character."

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
