Turkish Ambassador to Washington Namik Tan, who had been recalled
to Ankara after a US congressional panel passed a House Resolution
recognizing the Armenian Genocide, will return to his post in the US
in the coming weeks, reports Turkish daily Radikal, citing diplomatic
sources.

According to the publication, no official statements have yet been
made on Tan’s return, however, it’s highly likely that he will return
to Washington in the coming week.

Radikal also notes that it approached Tan for comments, but the
Turkish ambassador did not provide any comments.

However, foreign ministry sources state that Namik Tan will be in
Washington before the April 12-13 Nuclear Security Summit, reports
Radikal.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
