Should a war with Azerbaijan break out today, the Armenian side
will surely win it, and this time the fruits of the victory will be
more significant — Armenia will stop being a landlocked country,
and Azerbaijan will lose its sovereignty, Chairman of RA NA Standing
Committee on Defense, ARFD faction member Hrayr Karapetyan stated at
a press conference.

"Let Azerbaijan not place hopes on its oil. It is known for certain
that the world oil reserves will be exhausted within 42 years, and
Azerbaijan’s reserves in 20 years," he said. Karapetyan believes
the resumption of hostilities in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone
is unlikely. The Armenian side has not so far been defeated in the
Karabakh peace process, Karapetyan said.

"Any attempt to force the Armenian side to make unilateral concessions
is doomed to failure. People will never accept this, and 1996 events
will be repeated -a change of power will take place," Karapetyan said.

He also expressed content with the constantly increasing integration
between Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh.

Referring to the Armenian-Turkish relations and Armenian Genocide,
Karapetyan voiced regret that the RA Government does not approve of
the ARFD-initiated bill on criminal responsibility for denying the
Armenian Genocide. "It is just a shame that our Government does not
approve of the document, especially so as relevant laws were adopted
by several foreign countries," Karapetyan said. Speaking of the U.S.

President’s annual address to the Armenians on April 24, he expressed
hope that Obama will utter the word "genocide" on April 24.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
