Wednesday, April 7, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan met with
Francophonie International Organization Secretary General Abdou Diouf.

As RA leader stated, Armenia has century-old ties with France and
French culture, ties too close to refer personalities like Charles
Aznavour, Mishel Legran, Anry Vernoy, Alain Terzian, Garzou, Jansem to
purely Armenian or French culture. "Armenian community in France and
Francophonie countries also plays a significant role in strengthening
of relations," Serzh Sargsyan noted.

Francophonie International Organization Secretary General Abdou Diouf,
in turn, emphasized that Armenia completely fulfills its obligations
in its capacity of Francophonie associated member.

During the meeting parties focused on further collaboration issues,
presidential press service reported.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
