TIGRAN KOTANJIAN AND HRANT MELKUMIAN AMONG TOP-6

After round three of the 12th Open Chess Championship in Dubai,
Armenia’s chess players Tigran Kotanjian and Hrant Melkumian, having
a maximum number of points, joined the top-six seeded players, sharing
the positions with Ravinchandran, Eduardo Iturrisaga, Eshan Guy Magami,
and Dronovali Harika.

Armenia’s Grand Master Gabriel Sarkisian earned 2,5 points; Georgia’s
chess player of Armenian origin David Harutyunian at 2 points seeded
the 35th; Gevorg Harutyunian at 2 points seeded the 49th, and Tigran
L. Petrosian at 2 points seeded the 52nd.

In today’s round four of the tournament Tigran Kotanjian will play
against Eduardo Iturrisaga; Hrant Melkumian will play with Dronovali
Harika; Gabriel Sarkisian will play against Vadim Malakhatko; David
Harutyunian is reported to play against Khosla Shiveni, Tigran L.

Petrosian – against Vladimir Grabinsky, and Gevorg Harutyunian –
against Turkan Mamedyarova.
