MODERNIZED MEDICAL CENTER OPENS IN IJEVAN

A Modernized Medical Center opened Friday in Ijevan of Tuvish Region
of Armenia, gathering at its opening ceremony county’s high-ranked
officials, including President Serzh Sargsyan, Minister of Health
Haroutyun Koushkian, local officials, and representatives of the
World Bank Office and other guests.
The Ijevan Medical Center was founded by joint support of Armenia’s
Government and World Bank within the framework of presidential project,
entitled ‘The Balanced Regional Development.’
Center’s investment fund amounted nearly $2,3 million. According to
officials, the Center will provide the highest level of health care
for all population of Tavush Region of Armenia. Employing 24 doctors,
33 persons of the nursing staff, 6 administrative and 18 other workers,
the Center will often take into service best specialists on detached
duty from the capital.
Minister of Health Haroutyun Koushkian said that the Center has
been equipped with latest technologies and has the day-and-night
communications with the Yerevan Medical Centers of Erebuni and Grigor
Lusavoritch.
