ArmInfo. Adoption of Resolutions in the countries’ parliaments (on
recognition of the Armenian Genocide – Ed.) will not do Armenia any
good, Prime Minister of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan said during a
lecture delivered at the George Mason University in Washington.

As Anadolu Agency reported, when touching on the tragic events of
1915, Erdogan said that documents and archives should be studied to
reveal the truth. Erdogan also said the history is not being written
in the parliaments and it cannot be condemned in the parliaments
either. According to him, Ankara offered to open its archives and
set up the historical commission to study the archive documents.

However, Erdogan said, their call did not get a response.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
