BAKU EXPECTS UNAMBIGUOUS POSITION ON KARABAKH FROM NATO PA

Ziyafet Asgarov The NATO Parliamentary Assembly must express
its attitude to the Karabakh conflict, first vice speaker of the
Azerbaijani parliament Ziyafet Asgarov.

‘PACE has already voiced its position on the conflict, therefore,
the NATO Parliamentary Assembly should also follow this example’,
he told reporters Friday.

‘Naturally, we will raise this issue at the next session of the
Parliamentary Assembly’, he added.

According to Asgarov, the issue will also be discussed during the
expected May-June visit of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly’s secretary
general to Baku.

The first vice speaker reminded that the Karabakh conflict has
already been discussed in the committee on defense and security of
the Parliamentary Assembly.

‘But we want this issue to be included into the agenda of the session
and the due decision to be made’, he said.
