>From May on the Armenian Consumer Rights Protection non-governmental
organization will conduct a monitoring in the food market, NGO’s
Chaireman Abgar Eghoyan told Tert.am, adding that some 10-15 types
of food will be monitored.

In his words those forecasts that parallel to the rise in gas tariff
from 1 April the prices of some goods would see changes did completely
come true.

"It has turned our today that in general that bustle was baseless,"
said Eghoyan.

According to him it is not clear why there has been a rise in prices
of imported goods.

"The fluctuation of the exchange rate of [Armenian] dram and [US]
dollar the price of some imported goods increased by 10-15%. The
dollar has now devaluated but the prices still remain the same:
the prices have not fallen," mentioned Eghoyan.

The organization will publicize the results of the monitoring in
summer and will compare them with the data published by the Armenian
National Statistical Service.
