YEREVAN, APRIL 26, ARMENPRESS: After some period of time the regulation
process of Armenian-Turkish relations will continue in another format,
specialist of Turkish studies Sergey Minasyan stated at today’s joint
press conference with political analyst Yervand Bozoyan noting that
the continuation of the process depends not only on the wish of
Armenia and Turkey, but on other forces as well.

"Currently it is not distinct in what format the process will continue,
but we can say that it is being worked out. In case of continuing
the regulation process of Armenian-Turkish relations, the USA will
probably undertake more concrete steps," S. Minasyan said.

Y. Bozoyan noted that the process will hardly go on without
concessions. The two parties of the process, according to him,
distinctly confirmed their positions and it became obvious that nobody
is going to concede, and in that case the process will hardly go on.

"It became obvious that Turkey speaks in a language of preconditions
bringing forward the suspension of the process of the Armenian Genocide
and Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement in favor of Azerbaijan. In
that case, naturally, it is not possible to have a dialogue with
Turkey," Y. Bozoyan said. According to him, we may say that today there
is no Armenian-Turkish process, but Armenia and Turkey have not taken
their signatures back, as other forces are interested in the issue,
too. According to Y. Bozoyan, neither Turkey nor Armenia wishes to be
looked upon by the international community as a non-constructive state
by recalling the signatures first. Y. Bozoyan said that Turkey will
agree to continue the process only in case Armenia makes concessions
in Karabakh issue, which Armenia will never do.

In regard to the rumors on changes in the format of the Nagorno
Karabakh conflict issue, the political analyst noted that the change
of the format of the OSCE Minsk Group is not profitable for Armenia.

"That Azerbaijan seeks to change the format of the solution of the
Karabakh issue and does its best to involve Iran in the negotiation
process is just a hit for the Minsk Group", Y. Bozoyan said.

According to S. Minasyan, the rumors on change of the format cannot
be considered serious, for it is not profitable not only for Armenia,
but for the Minsk Group as well.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
