SCHOOLCHILDREN OF GEGHARKUNIK MARZ TAKE PART IN THE NEXT OPEN LESSON

Within the Open Doors policy of the National Assembly on April 28
the schoolchildren of the senior classes of different schools of
Gegharkunik Marz were hosted in the parliament.
The schoolchildren walked around in the building of the National
building, followed the work of the four-day sittings. Later they took
part in the open lesson, which became a tradition, and was held by
RA NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan. The Parliament Speaker welcomed the
schoolchildren and the teachers, emphasized their entrance into the
parliament, where they have opportunity to get familiarized with
the activity of the legislative body. Mr. Abrahamyan informed the
schoolchildren about the authorities, election legislation stipulated
by Constitution. Hovik Abrahamyan noticed that the work of the
parliamentary 12 standing committees was activated, issues concerning
the population were raised, during the parliamentary hearings being
organized regularly in the recent period, visits are carried out to
the marzes and rural settlements for getting familiarized with the
problems on the spot.
NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan also touched upon the Armenian-Turkish
relations and the settlement of Nagorno Karabakh problem.
The Head of the Parliament answered the schoolchildren’s various
questions, which referred to the international recognition of the
Armenian Genocide, the recovery of the global financial-economic
crisis, the emigration, the development of general education, the
ecological problems of the Lake Sevan.
At the end of the meeting RA NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan had his
picture taken with the schoolchildren, who took part in the open
lesson.
